What is Pilates?

Pilates is a form of exercise that emphasizes postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance.  It is usually done on a "reformer"  which will help with proper muscle engagement.  It can help improve athletic performance, injury recovery, weight loss and more.   Pilates can be done individually or in a small group, taught by either a licensed instructor or physical therapist.

How do Pilates exercises work?

With pilates, you train the core muscles around your spine. We will make sure that you are maintaining the best technique, enabling you to recover from your condition as soon as possible. Pilates exercises are aimed at the appropriate level for you and your pain, and are progressed when your body is ready and advancement is tolerable.
