With his intensive training in human anatomy and the biomechanics of correct movement, Dr. Letgolts finds that many patients’ problems begin in their feet, creating pain in the neck, back, as well as knee. Patients have no idea that their aching neck has to do with their feet. Many people pronate, which causes incorrect foot placement and a gait that will be more painful over time. Gait analysis is part of the Letgolts Method diagnosis, after which orthotic lifts may be recommended. Orthotics help stabilize the foot, or in some cases, correct the difference in leg length, which throws off stride. Properly adjusted muscles then relax, compressed joints are relieved and easier movement becomes possible.
